'Final Mile' Charity For North American Truck Drivers Announces Unique Fundraising Campaign

truckersfinalmile.org is an IRS recognized 501 (c) (3) Charity Organization with a devoted Mission to Reunite North American Truck Drivers with Their Family in Times of Crisis.

Trucking is a tough road. Families make a sacrifice every day by saying good bye to their driver. Over the Road Truckers can be away from home for weeks at a time. Sleeping in their rigs, eating fast foods, dealing with the weather, restrictive regulations, deadlines,  and other road users as they make their way criss crossing the continent delivering the commodities none of us can do without.

But there is one constant, yet rarely asked question the family always has. "Honey, what if something happens while you're out on the road?"

truckersfinalmile.org is an IRS recognized 501 (c) (3) Charity Organization devoted to getting families and their driver reunited in cases where that "what if" does happen.

With five distinct programs available, truckersfinalmile.org offers to all North American Truck Drivers and their familiy should an emergency occur in the course of their employment or self employment.

In cases of a Truckers death, regardless of cause or fault, truckersfinalmile.org can verify an event within their stated four hour goal, and communicate immediate travel arrangements for the next of kin. These arrangements may include air or ground transportation, and lodging for up to five days. Return travel, as well as transportation of a drivers remains home, are included.

Should a driver be seriously injured in the course of his/her employment or self employ, truckersfinalmile.org's program would provide the same benefit as outlined above, less of course, transportation of remains. Again, cause and/or fault is not considered.

In the event of a major medical emergency, the program would also provide these benefits to the family.

The fourth program offered by truckersfinalmile.org, is for the driver. In the event death, serious injury, or major medical episode of any immediate family member, travel arrangements home for the driver will be provided. Although they can not store or secure and truck, trailer, or freight, truckersfinalmile.org will communicate with both the driver and his/her company to expidite travel home.

Another program of truckersfinalmile.org is to retrofit homes of North American Truck Drivers requiring accessability and/or mobility modifications of their home as a result of permanent disability resulting from a work related injury.

As unscheduled emergency travel costs skyrocket, and become more limited in some cases, truckersfinalmile.org is constantly searching for new avenues to fully fund these programs to continually fulfil their Mission.

Begining March 1st 2015, truckersfinalmile.org is seeking businesses willing to donate recycleable scrap metals to this worthy cause. The challenge is in the logistics. How does one collect scrap metal continent wide? You don't.

truckersfinalmile.org would ask all of those interested in this campaign to donate the value of the collected scrap metals, less costs to recycle these items, to truckersfinalmile.org. With receipts showing the recycling cost, and the full value of the metals, truckersfinalmile.org will refund the recycling costs and issue the appropiate tax deductible receipt for the funds received.

Business that have scrap metals available and need "roll off" type containers for collection can have these provided by truckersfinalmile.org.
